Middle School Campus Immersion

The primary intent of the technology immersion project (TIP) is to pioneer technology immersion in schools of various types (demography, location, wealth).  A large part of the project is focusing on grade 6-8 middle schools.  Technology immersion has been brought to 22 middle schools throughout Texas that are serving these grades.  This subset of participating schools is large and diverse enough to simultaneously serve as the cornerstone for a US Department of Education-funded evaluation project that is assessing the variety of effects of technology immersion.  This parallel project is called the Evaluation of the Texas Technology Immersion Project, or eTxTIP.  The various middle schools participating in both the TIP and eTxTIP projects are:

Brady ISD – A small rural school district located near the center of the state in McCulloch County.  Brady Middle School is participating in the technology immersion project and is serving approximately 291 students and 25 teachers in its immersion implementation.

Bryan ISD – A large school district located in Brazos County.  Stephen F. Austin Middle School is participating in the technology immersion project and is serving approximately 940 students and 83 teachers in its immersion implementation.

Charlotte ISD – A small school district located in Atascosa County.  Charlotte Middle School is participating in the technology immersion project and is serving approximately 118 students and 22 teachers in its immersion implementation.

Corpus Christi ISD – A large urban school district located in Nueces County.  Baker Middle School is participating in the technology immersion project and is serving approximately 635 students and 22 teachers in its immersion implementation, and Cullen Place Middle School is serving approximately 482 students and 25 teachers in its immersion implementation.

Dublin ISD – A medium sized school district located in Erath County.  Dublin Middle School is participating in the technology immersion project and is serving approximately 304 students and 21 teachers in its immersion implementation.

Floydada ISD – A small school district located outside the Lubbock area.  Floydada Junior High School is participating in the technology immersion project and is serving approximately 234 students and 22 teachers in its immersion implementation.

Fruitvale ISD – A small rural school district located in Van Zandt County.  Fruitvale Middle School is participating in the technology immersion project and is serving approximately 100 students and 10 teachers in its immersion implementation.

Galena Park ISD – A large urban school district located in Harris County.  Woodland Acres Middle School is participating in the technology immersion project and is serving approximately 412 students and 38 teachers in its immersion implementation.

Houston ISD – The largest district in the state.  Kaleidoscope Charter School is participating in the technology immersion project and is serving approximately 120 middle school students and 6 teachers in its immersion implementation.

Laredo ISD – A large urban school district sprawling more than 13.83 square miles, located in Webb County.  Joaquin Cigarroa Middle School is participating in the technology immersion project and is serving approximately 1,617 students and 104 teachers in its immersion implementation, and Memorial Middle School is participating in the technology immersion project and is serving approximately 918 students and 60 teachers in its immersion implementation.

McLeod ISD – A small school district located in Cass County.  McLeod Middle School is participating in the technology immersion project and is serving approximately 127 students and 9 teachers in its immersion implementation.

Memphis ISD – A small rural school district located near Lubbock.  Memphis Middle School is participating in the technology immersion project and is serving approximately 116 students and 13 teachers in its immersion implementation.

Monte Alto ISD – A small rural school district located in South Texas near the border of Mexico.  Monte Alto Middle School is participating in the technology immersion project and is serving approximately 164 students and 15 teachers in its immersion implementation.

Morton ISD – A small school district located outside the Lubbock area.  Morton Junior High School is participating in the technology immersion project and is serving approximately 120 students and 18 teachers in its immersion implementation.

Newton ISD – A medium sized school district located in Newton County.  Newton Middle School is participating in the technology immersion project and is serving approximately 287 students and 27 teachers in its immersion implementation.

Port Arthur ISD – A large school district located in Jefferson County.  Woodrow Wilson Middle School is participating in the technology immersion project and is serving approximately 837 students and 56 teachers in its immersion implementation.

Post ISD – A small school district located in Garza County.  Post Middle School is participating in the technology immersion project and is serving approximately 207 students and 19 teachers in its immersion implementation.

Presidio ISD – A medium sized school district located in Presidio County.  Franco Middle School serves 351 students and 29 teachers in its immersion implementation.

Riviera ISD – A small school district in South Texas in Kleberg County.  De La Paz Middle School is participating in the technology immersion project and is serving approximately 129 students and 14 teachers in its immersion implementation.

San Diego ISD – A medium sized school district located in Duval County.  Bernada Jaime Junior High is participating in the technology immersion project and is serving approximately 360 students and 46 teachers in its immersion implementation.
